Mobile ‘showcase’ will take products and training to customers, trade shows and open days
PCL has invested in a brand new ‘Demo Van’ to showcase its world-leading pneumatic solutions and inflation technology.
Its primary use will be to provide live demonstrations of products at customer premises, whilst also enhancing training on new and existing products.
PCL already provides bespoke training for distributors on new and existing products; however the van will allow a close-up view with hands-on learning.

The vehicle will also enable the PCL team to demonstrate products to partners at its Sheffield-based factory, as well as further afield in the future at trade shows, open days and tyre safety events.
The smart, white, PCL-branded VW Crafter has plenty of room on board to accommodate a comprehensive stock of hose reels, air tools and tyre inflators, including the popular ACCURA QUBE Series II and PCL’s new ‘Made in Sheffield’ safety coupling. The van has been converted to fit an air tower, therefore special visits can be arranged for Forecourt and OEM customers.

The idea came from the ‘PCL Circles’ innovation challenge, which began in early 2023. This involved 9 teams from different areas of the business pitching solutions to enhance revenue, efficiency and profits. Finalists were selected by the Board of Directors according to criteria based on ROI, engagement, welfare and environment.
The winning pitch for a PCL Demo Van came from the ‘Air-venture’ group, whose focus was on improving the customer visit experience.

We were particularly impressed with the pitch for our own branded van and roadshow because of the enormous benefits it will bring to our customers.

“This customer-first solution was developed taking into account feedback from the sales team regarding customer needs and the result is a fantastic new resource. Essentially, Air-venture’s team have encapsulated our customer-centric ethos with the creation of a practical mobile showcase and training tool which we can take to customers at their convenience. And this is just the first stage of their plan - there is more exciting news to come soon – so watch this space!
