Introducing PCL’s new National Sales Manager Alan Findlow
Available to support UK partners through challenging times
PCL has strengthened its UK team with the welcome addition of National Sales Manager Alan Findlow, who is committed to supporting businesses through the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic and beyond.
With extensive experience of working with ends users and distributors both at home and abroad, Alan will use his knowledge and expertise to help companies whose operations have been affected, formulating short term solutions whilst looking ahead to strategies for recovery.
Alan has moved into the pneumatics market from a role within environmental waste management. Prior to that he worked within business supplies and workwear, where a range of remits included the development of global distribution. He therefore brings substantial sales and business acumen to PCL, where he will focus on the UK market for tyre inflation and compressed air equipment. Currently operating from home, with the Sheffield head office as his usual base, he is looking forward to adding value to relationships with distributors and identifying ways to improve end user sales.
Alan was attracted to PCL due to the company’s impressive industry performance and “Made in Sheffield” products. “To work for a world leader that still has a UK production facility is a strong message to be able to take out to market,” he explained. “There is always going to be a demand for these products.
“For me the role of National Sales Manager is about moving from a transactional relationship to value added partnerships, where we can assist in driving sales forward by using our knowledge and expertise as well as our products.”
An unexpected duty is to help companies impacted by the Coronavirus. Production at PCL initially ceased following Government instructions, however more recent announcements mean operations are about to recommence as PCL supplies to the essential workforce, including the emergency services.
Alan said: “Working with government representatives, we have implemented policies and processes to ensure some production and logistical activities may continue as safely as possible, which will enable us to provide ongoing support to our customers and their end users. If we can add value in the current situation whilst protecting the welfare of our team then we will do so.”
“Businesses will be impacted in the short term, but we have the right products and the routes to market to help them recover through avenues such as Partner+. There are lots of different initiatives we’re developing in the background to support and we can have those conversations, not face to face obviously, but we are looking to engage with people as and when the time is right – and if that’s now then we can do that.
“We are facing unprecedented and challenging circumstances, but this is a good industry to be in and all we can do as individuals and as a business is look after each other. As long as we can keep operating and it’s safe to do so PCL will keep the wheels turning and just take each day as it comes.”
PCL Sales Director Lee Wright said: “Alan’s dedication to building relationships and providing personal, tailored business support makes him a valuable addition to the team, and right now his role as National Sales Manager is an especially vital one. These are worrying times and our partners and customers need to feel confident they are in safe hands. Alan is well-equipped to support them through this incredibly difficult situation and we are delighted to welcome him on board.”
