PCL has answered a call from a global communications company to help ensure its employees are safe on the road
Neglecting tyre maintenance can cause serious, even fatal, accidents, and the company, which uses the world’s most advanced technology in its industry, takes its responsibility to employees who drive as part of their jobs seriously.
Therefore the company aims to educate its employees about tyre pressure by equipping company vehicles with a tyre pressure gauge and stressing the importance of fortnightly checks.
Good tyres have a positive affect on steering, braking, acceleration and fuel economy, whilst poor tyre maintenance not only increases the risk of accidents but could also mean a heavy fine and penalty points.
As a communications company used to speed of delivery, the request was for a product capable of providing fast, accurate and reliable tyre pressure readings – and PCL‘s high quality range fits the bill.
PCL was asked to supply 32,000 pencil-style tyre pressure gauges for vehicles, vans and trucks, so that drivers have constant access to highly accurate equipment necessary to check their tyre pressures.
PCL advised providing the TPG3 pocket gauge for use on ordinary vehicles and vans, and the TPG57 for larger vans and lorries.
The TPG3 is designed to British standards and features a pocket clip and removable protective cap, making it convenient for users to keep on hand.
With an angled head design to fit onto the valve at 90 degrees, the TPG3 incorporates a self-adjusting friction device which enables the pressure to be read when the gauge is removed from the valve, and a positive sealing washer to ensure reliability.
The TPG57 is engineered with larger vehicles in mind – for longevity and hard usage. It has a chrome-plated tube and lanyard ring, and an extra large filter to protect the high quality mechanism.
PCL’s Marketing Manager, Matthew Butters, said: “We are committed to the design and manufacture of tyre pressure gauges providing the highest levels of accuracy for maximum safety, so we were pleased to receive a call from a world-leading communications company asking us to help ensure its employees are well educated and properly equipped to maintain their tyres.
“It is encouraging to see such a high profile employer of this size and importance driving the message home to staff that tyre safety is an essential part of keeping themselves safe on the roads.”
