PCL has pledged support for campaign group TyreSafe as part of its drive to promote tyre safety amongst consumers
PCL is world-leading provider of high quality, reliable and cost-effective equipment for fast and accurate tyre inflation, and its Made in Sheffield” products are a familiar sight in garage forecourts, tyre shops and engineering workshops throughout the UK. The company is committed to educating motorists about why tyre maintenance is vital to road safety, and PCL’s knowledge and expertise will prove invaluable to TyreSafe, a not for profit, non commercial organisation set up to keep drivers safe.
PCL is the first non tyre company or retailer to join the original 14 companies responsible for forming TyreSafe at the beginning of 2007. Director Simon Shorter said: “We have been very impressed with the work of TyreSafe during Octobers Tyre Safety Month, in particular the focus on tyre pressures, a subject close to our hearts.
“Surveys have shown that only 11% of drivers are correctly checking the pressure of their tyres. Yet their lives, and those of their passengers, are reliant on the condition of their tyres. As a supplier of tyre inflation equipment we feel it is PCL’s duty to provide reminders and advice about tyre inflation and why it is critical to road safety. By pledging our support for TyreSafe we are reflecting our commitment to promoting the safety and environmental benefits of having correct tyre pressure, and we look forward to working with them.”
